This illustration began as an experimental work in acrylics on paper, exploring composition and color palette. After the painting was complete, the work was scanned and the background and texture were added in Photoshop. The birds are Spotted Pardalotes, a diminutive species found in Australia. As far as I know, gifting behavior of flowers by males to females is purely in the artist’s imagination.
